I will make this a quick post, since my time spent here was quite brief—I was running on a tight schedule this morning...but I have been wanting to go here for a bit now, and the weather was beckoning me to enjoy it at a market. That, and a Twitter friend and fellow MICA alumn was there selling his I (BIKE) DALLAS shirts—had to have one!
Immediately, we came to the horrible realization that there was no way we were going to get tacos without waiting a rather long time, and we were in a rush...so no tacos. I almost cried. I thought about at least checking what they had (since their combinations are often inspiring), but I chose not to be so sadistic. Decided instead to just run in and get some primal strips, cookies and such.
As for the market. It was great! I can't wait to spend more time there next time around. Seriously, it's the closest we've come here in Dallas to a market comparable to those I've had the pleasure of enjoying in other cities. There was a good vibe there. Live music, a wide variety of vendors, lots of friendly folks, bike parking, dog friendly, etc. One thing I thought was missing here that are at the really great markets I've been to (Baltimore, Seattle, Portland, Rotterdam) were more one-the-spot food tents. However, I can't help but think that won't change since the market's host probably wouldn't want competition with its taco stand. All in all, a super exciting thing to have started here. Go check it out! The next one is December 12, so stay tuned with their website (linked below). "Think Local. Shop the Rock."
