Green Spot has opened the Good 2 Go Taco taqueria within the convenience store. They change up their flavors/recipes daily, always cooking creatively with locally-sourced produce at its prime. So you don't know what you're gonna get when you go in...but rest assured, they always have 3 or 4 options, 1 of which is always veg-friendly. If it's vegetarian and you want it vegan, ask to 86 the cheese and you're set; if it's vegan and you want it just vegetarian, ask for some of that queso fresca, hombre! HOORAH! You can also choose between flour or wheat tortillas; I recommend the wheat because with all the flavor going on within the taco, you can't taste the tortilla too much anyway, so you might as well go healthier with it! Occasionally, they'll also have corn, sprouted wheat, and hemp. The first time I went in, I scarfed down my tacos before even thinking about taking photos to share. Trust me though, they were killer. I had two "Joyrizo" tacos (spicy Soyrizo, potatos, and some other yummz), and washed it down with the coconut water. Hydration was certainly needed after my mission to try many of the hot sauces provided. An impressive row of hot sauces, you say? Yes, great touch. I loved the Pickapeppa Brown Hot Sauce; It was a bit like A1, with strong hints of raisin and clove. Melinda's Habanero hot sauce was also super delicious.
The next time I went, I remembered to pause before devouring my highly-anticipated brunch. What you see here is their "Macho Pichu" taco, of which I got three! Potatos, red quinoa, asparagus, cilantro, etc. They were surprisingly light and moist, and certainly kept me full for a while. That didn't stop me, though, from getting some other goodies while I was there—a chocolate bar, a few Primal Strips, and (you guessed it) coconut water. It's a cozy little spot, filled with friendly folk. It's amazing what eating healthy does to peoples' spirits! Fellow customers are courteous, perhaps also lifted by the aromas of delicious tacos being made. There are big thick poles in front of the store—presumably to indicate parking and stop renegade cars from busting into the glass—but we use it to slip our dog's leash over. It's the perfect place for your pup to chill while you nibble. And if she's real good, there are some peanut-butter filled pretzels inside that I'm sure she would appreciate sharing with you! Especially if she's on her way to the White Rock Lake Dog Park, just around the corner. By then, you'll both be grinning ear to ear.
